Allie 10 weeks-17 weeks

A lot has happened since Allie turned 2 months, especially in the sleeping department! Allie's sleep was all over the place at night. In her bed she would only go 3 hour stents, but if she slept on Jeff in the recliner, she would sleep 6 plus hours. When Allie turned 3 months, we decided that she needed to learn the good ole "cry-it-out" method. Once babies turn 3 months, they don't need to eat every 3 hours at night, so we (meaning Jeff, because I could have no part in hearing her cry!) put her down semi-awake in order to let her put herself to sleep. This way, if she woke up in the middle of the night, she could put herself to sleep without having to eat. Shockingly, it only took 2 nights for this to work! The first night, Jeff had to go into her room after 5 minutes of crying to pat her without picking her up... twice. The second night, he only had to do this once. The third night, she slept from 9pm-7am! Since then she has consistently slept from about 830pm until 6am or later. Of course, this wasn't the case when she was sick or when we were on vacation and she was sick. But once we got back into town, it was like she was back into her routine!! I really think that Allie is just like me.... she likes to sleep!!!

Allie loves smiling and she is the happiest in the morning. Sometimes she wakes up in the morning and lays in her bed talking. When I come in there to unswaddle her, she stretches for about 10 minutes. It's like her arms are stuck in the 'Y' position of the YMCA dance.

Audrey still loves her baby sister. Allie does take some abuse though. Apparently Audrey thinks that yelling at her sister is the only form of communication that she can hear. I don't know how many times on a daily basis Audrey scares Allie by yelling in her face. Luckily, she doesn't get upset by it, she just practically jumps out of her diaper. "Hi baby Allie!!!!!" Audrey also likes to say "Awe, baby Allie, you're such a cute, fat baby. Wook at your fat baby wegs (legs), you cutie patootie!" 

Allie hates tummy time, but loves to sit in her Bumbo or high chair. She also loves to stand assisted. She talks a lot, which seems to be more than Audrey did... however, Allie likes to have "conversations" with Audrey. These conversations consist of Allie "talking" and Audrey yelling, but it seems to work. Allie is very entertained!

Allie has started teething the last couple of weeks (at about 3 1/2 months). Poor baby is uncomfortable, drools a ton and loves to chew on her fingers. She is a little young to start teething, so it makes it difficult for her to be coordinated in the holding and chewing of a teething ring.

Allie is such a sweet, happy, and easy baby!!
